Try off aircon when possible, that time I went to Frasers, off aircond, full tank lasted 500KM instead of the usual 390KM ish range

Typically, their published FC rates are inflated because they test their cars on a "thread mill" -- not realistic of actual road conditions. Consequently, I read we are supposed to take two-thirds of the published FC rates as the true FC rate.

Chris

Yah I've seen the "thread mill" that the auto manufacturers use. i saw the one that Proton has in shah alam when I was installing and fixing a dyno for them. You hook up the car to the system then the computer will start to drive the car to a preprogrammed squence. You can see the mechanisms changing gears, press the clutch and all.

Its I think pretty far away from being realistic as the road surface also affects the rolling resistance of the tyres. I also don't know how much wind resistance the factor into their end calculations. Also a human where got so consistent with the throttle wan.

So the end result is very academic. But not to say that those results cannot be do in real life it can be achieved and beaten. But for most its just academic.
