situations now are different from the times of minardi back in the early millenium

3000cc V10 against 2400cc V8

different tyre designs (grooved versus slick)

traction control versus none

race strategies play dominant role (how much fuel during qualifying..how much during race starts)

restricted aerodynamics vs less restricted then.
