Audi A4 is nice car, won't be much maintenance overheads,if you do service as per the kilometer range of travel.

MB and Volvo of the conti brands I know off have stopped producing and stocking parts for their models more than 20 years old. And remember that potong cars import will be banned or banned already? so making more difficult or almost impossible to find spares.
One of the reasons I let go of my 22 years old conti car was parts availability for it was becoming difficult even though it was running well.

thanks for the suggestions. I dont really like the look for the 308, more to like girly design.
As for the swift, my other half is driving that car so ...no point buying the same car.
is the alfa 147 alright?
I recommend BMW 5 series E39, one of the best car ever made! The best deal get the 525i/530i with M54 engine but price may slighly exceed your budget for good maintain one. Most of owner who drive this car should be more mature and nicely maintain. If you insist wanna get E46, just Andy111172 said, forget 318i. Get the 6 cyclinders...
How about Merc 124 model? You pay much much less and less headache. I can't think of any better choice than this when it come to conti cars.
Susah2 sgt, get inspira laa.... I had test drive it and i was quite impressed with the ride quality.. Conti feel is there!..

but u see ar.. say the car cost 40k and each time service the parts prolly cost you 3-4k thats another 10% of the car. so should sell or not? actually same here too.. the only thing worried me like u said.. the loan unless u sell the 40k car prolly get a brand new like 50-60k so you dont have to service the loan that much.? but at that price u wont get a conti car unless like TS get a 2nd hand but then again e46? my fren spent 20k+ to fixed his just bough 2nd hand e46 rm120k. mileage tempered, gearbox conked etc..
