sayfat,
The turbo is very reliable provided you take necesssary precaution. The
turbo has no ball bearing cos' the speed is tremondously high, probably
like 10,000 rpm ( plse correct if its not correct ) So it depends solely
on the lubricant, which is also the engine oil. So imagine if you are
running at high speed and suddenly you swift off the engine. At that
moment, the turbine shaft will burnt off the lubricant quickly and when
there is no more lubricant, the shaft will rub against the housing and
that will be the end of the turbo system.
So the only precaution you have to take is to let the engine cool down by
delaying the switching-off the engine( i.e.don't switch off the engine
immediately, wait about 1 minute or so ) after its running at high speed
or after you ramn the engine while doing servicing . You actually don't
need a turbo timer ( if you have it would be better ) Normally for town
use there's no need to delay the engine switch-off cos' the turbo rev is
low.

Luke,
There is Directional Panel Mechanic for Citroen cars in Kuantan
- Tan Motors, Semambu

Another one is in Balok (beside restoran ikan bakar).
The workshop looks like a big open hangar.

Cos' 2ndhand fiat is a lot cheaper. Pininfarina still like the ulysse but
he prefers the auto version. Pininfarina I'm sure you'll lose some power
with auto version.

Guys - I have just stumbled onto this interesting thread, after drooling
over a beautiful Ulysse II displayed at One Utama recently ..... it is a
fine-looking vehicle, especially the nose.

May I ask some stupid questions??

(1) Most people tend to avoid Fiat/Ciroen/Peugot/Renault cars due to the
perception that they are unreliable - but is this true??

(2) Are good mechanics/spare parts difficult to locate??

(3) What about prices of these??

(4) How much is a new turbo-diesel now and what is the power/torque
rating??

Many many thanks for all your help ..... Big SmileBig Smile

OIC..from manual change to auto ...now that makes sense!

1) it's true if u unluckily get a lemon. Got my Multipla since June 2002,
just the electric side mirrors giving me problem before.

2) Body parts/spare parts for new cars are hard to get, must order!
Mechanics, well, we have a list of it in our other website. I am
currently using outside mechanics, no more Torino! Engine is the same as
the Marea, so not muchofa problem according to HHK!

3) Ulysses II around RM149K

4)No Turbo diesel available yet for the Ulysses II! Maybe the Multipla
JTD??
