Bro. YSW,
Once they are in specialized field, they will concentrate on that, as in radiator service, gear box repairs etc.
Mechanics will be mechanics, some will become tuners and so on.....depending on their field and which is better in bringing in their bread and butter.......
agree with you VR2 bro....for that same reasons i visit 4 diff workshops where each specialises in their own field i.e. aircond, tires & suspensions related, electrical wiring & ECU and general service & maintenance...very hard to get 1 who is all-rounder...these foremen know their stuffs very well and charge at a 'reasonable' rate... it is not 'cheap' but of course not as expensive as those throat-cutting SC's

Bro.
What you have mentioned are all specialized field. Even my mechanic will look for wire man if complicated electrical issues.
Tyres and suspension can go together with some light repairs and servicing like oil/filter change.
Mechanic can do servicing and repairs including suspension and ECU fault only. To repair ECU will need another specialist and so on.......

Just back from PH Auto in SEA park.
Saw poster on Gaido Timing Belt.
Have 2 types. One is 60k km or 18 months warranty. The other is 100k km or 24 months warranty....

Found one spare part shop selling Gaido belt but they seem not willing to entertain my question, then end up buying another brand call Strong Ken in different shop which is same price with Gaido with same warranty period. Actually there are a few brands around which are also got warranty during my searching for belt.

More brands will emerge in the market because timing kit is a brilliant product with quite good margin...
However, the market potential does not grow pretty good because more and more engine manufacturers go for timing chain solution. More and more players would be fighting for market share that is potentially going smaller. The timing kit will be getting cheaper and cheaper until one day it is so cheap that it "forces" some parts wholesalers/makers to go for sub standard low quality parts.
My wild guess on such market that it would go saturated in 3-5 years time.
It is not difficult to commit certain warranty, you can register a RM2 company, come out with a brand and probably buy some insurance, source parts from China and pack them nicely and start selling. If one day when there are too many complaints or it gets out of control on the quality issue. Just close the company, open another one and come out with a fresh brand name and start selling again.
