bk4t9: u mentioned u used VR4 intercooler on your turbo diesel wira and
running at 11PSI ??!! that is almost 7.5Bar ahh~! did u modified any
internal part of your engine? lowered the compression? coz my wira diesel
turbo running at stock 0.6Bar and dun dare to further boost up, afraid
engine cannot stand it.. [i didnt install intercooler] so i am very
interested in how u set your car. mind to share?
and, how your intercooler pipe run? did u remove your battery to your car
boot? coz i noticed there is very little space to run the intercooler
pipe..

whitewhite: proton wira diesel is mitsu 4d68 engine, i have seen 5
variety of this:-

1) non turbo diesel - local wira diesel
2) non intercool turbo with ECU control - export model wira diesel
3) non intercool turbo without ECU - halfcut fr. Japan
4) turbo intercooler on top of engine under the bonnet - halfcut fr. Japan
5) turbo intercooler under the bumper - halfcut fr. Japan

only the item 5 engine will suit to my kind of mod, inlet is opposite
side to the exhaust, hence no problem of piping.

i didn't transplant the whole engine into my wira, just to avoid the 100%
increase in roadtax, base engine is my wira STOCK without lowered the
compression, only addin the neccessary parts dismantle from the halfcut
to complete, however even with the above mod only you too can get into
trouble if JPJ gets you cause the intercooler under the bumper is too
obvious, so it's advise to get JPJ before JPJ gets you.

i'm sure by now you should able to 11 psi your wira diesel huh! so do it
till you're satisfied maybe 12 or even 13 before you blow off ok?

MY GOODNESS~! u use yr stock 4D68 non turbo engine w/o lower compression
and yet boost up so high?! That worries me alot lar... I hope u know that
our 4D68 non turbo punya compression is very high ohh.... boost up some
more.. hai ya~~ scare scare...

what i did was take out the stock 4D68 and plant in the 4D68 turbo non
intercooled from half cut japan. i get the car passed by JPJ and tested
already. no prob in the test. (i live in Kuching)

i think i got problem of getting the piping done coz my intake pipe is on
the left(standing in front of car),air filter on the left, turbine inlet
facing left, turbine outlet facing up... so the left side very pack and
hav really little space to work out..

yr intercooler so big, u experience turbo lag? i wonder longer piping
will cause more lag o not.. coz now i dun hav intercooler, the
pressurised air go into intake manifold immediately so the response quite
good, i afraid to loss that fast response..

and, how u control yr boost level?

u taken a photo of yr car engine room? mind we share our car pic? i wish
to observe how u mod yr car so tat i can hav some idea to improve my car
too, since the DNA of our car is almost the same and it is going to
extinct soon...hahaha..

I know a wireman that can do it very well in KL & it cost around RM150.
Last time mine oso convert to 4D68T & use the halfcut's meter. The
wireman modified something on it & it's working. But the meter actually
not meet the space of the ori one except u change the dashboard.

whitewhite,I actually rebuild the engine with a set of new piston,so i
mentioned stock engine coz the piston was bought in the local spare parts
shop by my mechanic, may be is a compression lower piston, not to sure.
As for the lag its not to obvious may be trade off by the high boost of 11
psi compare to the non intercool turbo of 9 psi(intercool turbo unit come
with an integral wastegate n is preset at 11 psi) btw what is your present
boost?
Sorry no photo,i have converted to the non intercool type to prevent JPJ
problem, you know, you can not change off your green engine unless prepare
to pay double what you pay now,pls share how you got approval by JPJ in
east malaysia.
once again i must mention if you are to bolt in a intercooler for wira
diesel, you need to source the original intercool type of engine from Japan
inorder to avoid the piping reroute proplem.Thankyou.

Dear bk4t9,
if u want the meter light look bright, simply take out the meter bulb &
tear off the plastic cover or change all the bulbs to a new one.
