20k extra for 3 series should be a used or demo unit, right?
if they still give u 3 yrs warranty, mileage low, then should be ok.
i drove this 2 models b4, power wise, S40 wins(compare to 320i). but handling, 3 series win easily.

richard,
sometimes heard ppls said the characteristic of a RWD (slightly oversteer) is more fun to drive, does that means the handling is better?
mind to share what can u do with the 20k in order to beat the 3 series?

with rm20K, you can get
1) KW variant 2 or 3 coilover ( so far the best performance hi-lo, soft hard absorber +spring for volvo) around rm5000
2) Full set of IPD strut tower bar, lower arm bar, bigger diameter antil roll bar ( will improved s40 high speed handling & road holding ) around rm2500
3) Full set mazda3/focus adjustable toe & camber kits ( good for s40 as well but depend which year model ) around rm1500
4) bigger, lighten and wider offset rim from euro or US (brand subject your liking )around rm5000
5) UPT tires from japan or euro ( brand subject your driving style ) around rm4000
6) PU bushes all the undercarriege arms and bars ( rm1000)
7) spare the rm1000 for summons after all you will non stop driving your s40 fast.....and tapau all the 3 series at high speed corner. hehehehe
if you give extra rm50K to me then you will get 370bhp out from your s40 2.4i...want to try ?

Since your car are 2.4i that not many tuner's in this world will consider it worth to spend the R&D time & $ to breaking the ECU code's to gain just less that 10bhp...and also to performance the BOT will require lots of hardware to replace so .... transplant are only way to go, with 50K you can get S40t5 front halfcut either from singapore or japan with cost around rm24K and with rm4K of labour + completed new exhaust system at around rm6K, bigger turbo with either kkk k26 or garret GT28 at around rm5K , rm4K to remapping tune the stock 220bhp engine to 370bhp , and with 370bhp on engine then you need to upgrade braking system with 4-6pots big brake kits with another rm6K to stop your car......that is one KL 2.4i member are consider to performance it very soon...once all the legal paper are done.
