JUst got back from Perak. Did 420 kms with 42.5 L of petrol. 5
passengers, full trunk of fruits etc. WOrks out to 10L/100 kms or 10 km /
1 L.

Pretty impressive actually.

Also, changed headlamp bulbs to Hella H4 bulbs. Quite a bit of diff from
my prev Osram Bilux bulbs esp on dark stretches of road.

buzzvic, that's very good FC for 5 passengers in the carThumbUp

i had similar trip to KL a few weeks back @ 110km/h and according to the
trip computer - 9.1L/100km. however, the return trip was made at higher
speeds and that returned about 10.2L/100km.

glock, no full synth in your T5? or the 940? i use full synthetic Mobil1 in
the T5. The oil at the end of 10K oil change is still cleaner than the one
coming out of my kenari @ 5K. -** clean enough to put into the p2 to drive
for another 5k, hahaha **-

Kenari1,

My mechanic said the semi-synthetic should be good enough and less noisy
but the regular oil change should remain at 5000km. The T5 consumption is
not bad, even at high speeds and town driving, it returns about 11
litres/100km and I have a full load too. I'll let you know the colour in a
few months' time. :D

Kenari1, FC should have been better actually, On the trip up, was caught
up in heavy traffic due to rain and accidents. Was travelling at 70-80
only. Coming back can travel constantly at 100-110. Quite satisfied with
the handling and comfort under full load and FC too.

Impressive with the fuel u guys get. have been surfing on other newer cars
of 1.3 or even 1.6 from japs to korea made, would say they give about the
same mileage per lt. NOW, who says Volvo cars drinks!

Asto fully synthetic, after the possible risk hearing here and there with
my car coming birthday to 12, better stick to semi. HUH, guess will give
my stock to brother in law to used then...

Guys,

The fuel comsumption on my T5 on the last trip KL/Ipoh was 8.8l/100 km.
Most of the time was travelling at 110 kph. This is by far the best FC I
got from the T5 since getting my hands on it on 10SEP04. The previous
trips' average was 9.4l/100 km.

With regard to the engine oil, I read elsewhere that continental cars tend
to leak if you use fully synthetic engine oil. My T5, I was told, is using
semi-syn & I shall be sending it for a service & engine oil change
tomorrow. Meanwhile, my GLT is on fully syn engine oil & it is leaking.
I'll try the semi-syn oil at the next service & see if there's any
difference.

Hi guys,

Went to KL last weekend. Put the petrol to full tank and the cost of
refuelling was RM67.31 (47.4 liter)for the distance of 477 km. After some
calculation my 940 gives about 28.4 mpg or 9.94 liter/100km. Speed: most
of the time was 110-120 kmh. Between Tg. Malim - Rawang 120-140 kmh. The
manual states 30 mpg and I think the test was done without a/c. Anyone
tried to test the fc w/o a/c?

ziemann,

that'e consider very good. I never go below 10 liter/100km before. Off
course, I also never go w/o a/c off neither. Should try one of these days.

Thanks for sharing.

Ciao
