So you reckon he is trustworthy? One problem for the 164 is that it
doesn't have any resale value.. I've tried calling a few 2nd hand dealers
and asking how much they are willing to accept it if I trade in (in the
future) but they don't even want to take it, citing that it's a very
difficult car to sell (low demand). And when pressed the said the car at
the most costs RM10k if in good condition.. so I guess if I were to get it
I'll be keeping it for a long time eh? Not to say I mind :)

The 164 is near to become a collector's item already...meaning to say
only the ones who appreciate it would want to buy and maintain it. In the
U.S the 164 is considered special and they have its parts sold and
included in a catalogue (international autoparts etc.) together with
other alfa classics.

So you need to get your intention right before buying one! Ask your self
whether you can see yourself driving it for say at least the next 5-10
years...because you know the moment you buy it, it's difficult to sell it
back and expect low low resale value.

If you talking about resale value.....so I advise you to forget it buying
164....

People drive alfa never thinking of resale value.....we enjoy the
performance / power / comfort and the safety of alfa romeo...164

Why not you just look for Nissan Cefiro 3.0 may good resale value and 3.0
CC as 164 3.0Big Smile

I agree, it`s more of a collector`s car and something to keep for the long
term, similar to my 1961 volvo 122s which I`m keeping until today, but the
164 is more practical for daily driving.

pininfarina - I don`t like the Cefiro 3.0 litre... tired of uninspiring
japanese cars already, besides even the Cefiro 3.0 has a poor resale value
similar to any big cc cars. I`m just surprised 2nd hand dealers do not
want to trade in the alfa 164, I thought they would accept it, even if
it`s for a lower price. Anyway being already so cheap I don`t mind keeping
it for a long time as there`s not much to lose, even a Proton Waja or
Perdana would lose more than 10k after the 1st year.

Hey DLTH! It's me Juz. We both like the manuals lah but a 164 clutch
can get pretty tiring in traffic lah! It's quite firm isn't it? With
the 3.0V6, no complaints about power and the engine note - simply
beautiful. And in black with tinted windows, it's the original mafia
car! Big Smile But like they said, ever thought about the 155? A 2.0TS
engine is more economical and it will have a similar feel as my 156 when
you sat in it. When you doing up the Volvo amazon man?! Big Smile

Hi Pininfarina,
No, the car is in K. Terengganu. I don't know if the owner is still having
it but if you're interested PM me for his phone nos. The colour is
metallic brown. Overall it's still in a good condition. Its more like a
weekend car to me. The owner's only complain is ARCU - not functioning. I
had thought of buying it but my interest was more towards a GTV6. Besides
I don't prefer an automatic tranmission. Cool

Hi everyone,

I've just recently bought a 168 3.0 V6, reg 1992. It has been a blissful
experience thus far, and she definitely is so much more fun than driving a
Mercedes or Cefiro.

Just wondering though... whats the difference between the Lusso and the
Super? And secondly, where can I get the Super bodykit to be fitted?
