ya. my friend change put in the 2.8 half cut into his land2. he want to
maintain the original type of engine. but the body mostly added with
some accessories. actually he got it from tender for rm25k. previously
owned by telekom in sarawak.
he changed the exhaust pipe into a bigger diameter - the mechanic say
better output of power. Correct ka? i always thaught factory
specification is always better?
now i am looking to change my tyres. the rear both are nearly out of
thread. consider change to those rubber with width of 10". now looking
around and ask around for information and to upgrade my knowledge.
any advice? now i am using the original 15" rims

butthead, u r right! 1kz power is kicking all right. It leaves a long
trail of pretty dark smoke whenever press for speed! on gotoy case, the
SWB to my understanding is too powerful to be installed with a kz. a lot
of things need to be modified and reconsider.

in the process of changing my tyres and rims into those more sporty
units. when to kk last week and visited a few shop - those selling new
alloy type and those original used rims from japan.
in term of price the original is more expensive lor. those alloy one are
mostly chrome finish while the original 3-pc set are polish finish.
new - 16" rims with 10" width tyres around RM2800 to RM3750
used from nippon - 16" rims with 10" used tyres - a whoppy RM4300 to
RM5600.
ha ha ha.....and i always think tyre is cheap!

guys, I am about to acquire a 1KZ LCII, 1996 body and engine on a 1991
chassis, asking for RM38k, inspected the car, very smooth engine and gear
shifts.
Can you share a few pointers?
1. I am using the LCII mainly for farm work, I am no LCII fan, I am just
considering Toyota due to its reliability
2. Someone here mentioned that maintaining it is costly, compared to LCII
2.8D,what will be the difference in terms of normal maintenance?
3. Comparing it with 2.8D, how will the fuel consumption fare?
Thanks a lot.

Correct me if I am wrong. Isn't 1991 (LCII) body and 1996 (Prado) totally
different? If yes, different body and chassis being screwed together might
not be secure and I would avoid it.
But as I say, I am not familiar with LCII

Tourist,
Me too... not familiar with LCII, but yes the body of the LCII
has "Prado" stickers on it. but it is LCII not the Malaysian Prado, they
probably called it Prado in Japan.
