'1kz in a LC2.....cool Gotoy! I think you have to consider upgrading the
suspension and brakes to support the engine capacity. '
Was done a long time ago. Fitted discs all round.

itu dia!!!!
showing off the four disc brake is enough already cause all LC2 prado
version only comes with front disc brake and rear brake drum!
so, how do you feel! Have you try out the cruising speed at 100km/hr?
From my experience, at 90km/hr and above, only there you can really
understand the power of 1KZ. we are flying babe!

My LC is not fitted with a 1KZ. I have driven one and quite impressive.
As for other mods, not much, just the usual 4x4 extras for a little light
offroading.

Actually there are many 1KZ fans here but not everybody like to write and
post in forum. Anyway, I taught you already have one. Sorry for that.
What is the price per unti over there and the installation charges like?

I am still weighing up options.
Cheapest ever 1KZ I have seen was in a chop shop in KL, last year. This
was a hilux half cut with auto transmission. The guy wanted 7k. The unit
looked quite ok, I never saw it running. Installation charges, better to
do youself, but around the 3k mark seems to be the norm; all in.
Sabah prices?

Sorry for long absent.
Last week my friend change his LC2 engine on normal 2.8 The half cut is
RM4.8k and the full unit is RM6.5k. The engine over heated a few time
and found out that the engine has cracked. That's why every 2 days have
to refill the radiotor. Installation is RM450 plus changing several new
parts as needed total near to RM1,200. So all in abour RM6450. wa la!
Lucky we know the seller and can ccm 4 times.
Fixed the car in 3 days, tested for 2 days and now ask the runner to
change the green card info. say, maybe another few hundred.
Gotoy, i still look for the price of 1kz.

On Monday I went to check out an Prado SX 3.0 turbo for sell. The
selling price is aound RM55k. The condition is good. I think it is
about the same age with mine ....say 12 years old. Dark green. 1kz
engine. the seller got another TZ and now want to get another smaller
car.
The engine is good as we can see the car in sandakan now and then. My
friend is considering getting it but I know his budget is very tight. U
know lah working officers like us!! Nama saja eksekutif / pegawai; tapi
gaji macam sotong! ha ha ha He is driving a hilux double (the model that
still use leaf spring at the front wheel).
Yesterday I modified my head lamps and costed me RM136. The original is
too yellowish. So change the wiring and bulbs - not the super bright
one. I hate them! The glare is too much for opposite drivers.

gotoy...how come you did consider the 2.8?...difficult to locate half
cut?....or just power hungry...heheheheh.....well...I guess in terms of
roadtax...not much difference...but performance wise...1KZ...UMPH!!!!heheheh
