Although Zul's comment seemed to support the technician's theory that only
silver colored Nabira has a chemical reaction thus emittting the smell, I
still find the explanation hard to believe. HICOMOBIL must do something
about this and find a solution for our "smelly" friends..ASAP!!!

Were you the guy that went to Hicomobil office for this odour problem?
If you are the one,What did the tech guy told you.Just talk to Mr
Hasbullah......and unbelievably he wants to replace the air inlet vane on
the left hand side(what a joke).Berbuih telling him that could smell from
inside the structure.....now he only want to change the vane. At least the
guy under him want to clean the blower and the a/cond unit to remove the
grease on the blower. Need to call him again to liase with Thailand
counterpart.

its because of the cigarrette i smoke or the cheap car parfume i use.
I have had this smell problem before when i was using Waja. It turned out
to be the car parfume because when i change the parfume the smell was gone.
Nabira also same thing. It all started when i used the gel type parfume. It
release a bad smell when it started to dry up - after being in the car for
quite sometimes and exposed to sunlight.
I think the thirsty hippo(not hungry hippo) is working for me! Try it out
and let me know the result. If the smell is gone, then its the dampness
that is causing the smell.

You have my sympathies.
Temporarily, why not put some some odor absorbing material (eg charcoal)
into the air channels while letting the Hicomobil attack the problem in
the long term.

lower structure again with chemical. And for short term , will put some
sponge near the rear blower to block air from the beam.Make sure it suck
air mostly from inside the cabin only. But will wait till the new C-pillar
cover(broke while installing by the tech guy).will do it in one shot.

I have the same odour problem for my rear aircond especially when it's
not used for some time. :( Co-incidentally, my Nabira CD is a silver
color one. I didn't have the problem until I make about 5,000km mileage.
I'm rather puzzled by the way it's made related to the paint color. I
don't think this is causing the odour.
Anyway, has anyone found a solution to it or got it fixed? Please
advise.
Thanks!

panel, lower aircond duct, about 4 clips and 4 screws (for filter cover)
need to be removed to take out the filter. My filter already turned to
partially grey colour but nothing abnormal there.Maybe by 40K...need to
replace it.Smell still there...and still confused. the Technical guy
(Hasbullah) is not helping at all. This is the guy who suggested to me to
replace the vent or louvre panel.Seems like he is avoiding my problem.
