Guys,
This is regarding my Nabira Chemical odour prob. This technical guy from
hicomobil make a statement that its normal for silver Nabira to hv this
odour(chemical reaction btwn paint and anti-rust grease),which I think is
bullshit. He said theres another silver Nabira with same prob. So basically
I need other Silver Nabiran to chk this odour inside body structure so
that I can proof him wrong(if hes wrong). I asked him to ask Thai
counterpart b'coz maybe they hv come across same problem there. So it will
be easier to solve mine. How to chk the odour- just smell it thru the
cargo net hook holes on both side. Is there any weird smell?Thats all I
need.Anybody can provide me Chevy CEO contact no.(nurzahid's)? Where is
his office? If this prob still not solve in next 2 visits......I think I
need to serang somebody. They are too slow.....spares, warranty
claim ........Quite fed-up already.Lucky this problem only happening to me
(I hope so- but then...very unlucky me).Anyway....other silver Nabiran,
plse help me in this and very appreciate on all the effort.Thank you.

kamasnita,

My silver Nabira was fine when collected in end June. But last week the
aircond 'kaput' on the way to proservis to check the steering left
problem. They rectified the aircond problem (they said air cond gas to
much). Now the strange smell occurs (stong human body odour??) to me when
starting the car with air-cond on but gone after a few minutes. Now i
start the car with the door open and let the smell out first before
driving the car. Will complaint on this matter upon checking the steering
left problem.

kay es,

Look at the chevy banci listing. Is there anyone there you may be able to
get in contact with?

Hi Kay Es,

None in SG (Silver Zaf) complain about smell. Call my "kaki" just who is
driving a silver one. Also okay.

However, my Thai Gold got a bit of stale air smell when I first start the
air-con, like my other previous cars. Especially after rainy weather. But
disappear almost in few seconds. So I guess the filter could be damm due
to our higher humidity temp? Once in a while on a hot day, I just run the
blower (w/o the aircon) to "dry" the filter.

wazafi,

coincidence... mine is gold & i also got that smell when first start air-
con, especially after raining. but since it's only few second, i don't
really make an issue. also definitely not same as kay es's, since i've
smelled his car before. so it's just air-con filter thing and not a "gold
nabira" smell? ha ha ha... sorry kay es.

Hi kay es,
I have a silver Nabira 18Cd and no strange smell my unit. Aircon works
fine front and back :)
The car's been very good since we got it in Feb, although it has only
done 3000 kms.

Kay es,
I think that Hicomobil technician has probably got no idea what's causing
that smell. His explanation sounds aloof. Maybe a good aircon specialist
can find the problem. These days, I have very little faith in authorised
service centers.
Good luck.

Guys,
thanx alot.....now can response back base on these feedback. What I
see...its from the grease. Sometime...teh grease can retain some outside
smell.Because one time(long time ago)....I smell the same odour while
standing outside my car once but only for awhile. So not able to trace the
odour. I hv a few suspected cause but unable to proof it. So far l/h lower
beam cleaned with anti-grease chemical. And I think the odour has reduced
but still there.Need to do again. I think i'll do the cleaning of r/h beam
by myself(sendiri bayar).Since it will be cheaper than going to SC
(toll,fuel,time etc).
About the damp smell....I also having now..........after I did this
Febrezetherapy on my Nabira(pour one bottle into the beam and let it flow
out thru the drain holes).Endup....when I walk along my porch, I can smell
the febreze for more tthan 1 week.He..he..he..Anyway the SC at Seri
kembangan is quite helpful.

Mine is silver and got smell whenever the aircond is turned on. Worst if i
turn on rear aircond. Normally i will open rear windows for awhile until
smell is gone. Nowadays, getting vert difficult to get rid of it. Smell is
strong when i open the left side first-aid compartment. My Nabira is now
20K on the odometer and the smell started after just a few thousand KM.

Febreeze seems to work awhile but now not any more.
