IMHO, it's more sensible to have it merged with Know Your Car, since
they're similar in content.

I agree with esky...would have been nice if it was merged with Know your
car...as someone else mentioned,a lot of topics will pop up all over the
place now!.Here's hoping Admin will reconsider.

i think the forum admins are smoking some really good sh1t. The "How to
Maintain Your Car" forum had one of the highest postings. If forums are
deleted based on traffic, I can see MANY other forums with low postings
that don't belong here.
I think there was another reason the forum was removed. Maybe they effed
up in their work, screwed up the forum, and lost the data, so they just
give us a convenient excuse that they had it removed due to low postings.
Pah, what a load of crock!

I think another reason why the forum is deleted is because some
products/companies are given 'free advertising' which AW doesn't get any
payment from. Actually those products are mentioned because they deserve
to be mentioned, and it has nothing to do with using that section as a
free marketing avenue.
I've always regard the admin as sensitive to the users needs until that
sudden deletion without even considering there is actually a real
community behind that section. The impression I get was that, the admin
doesn't care about your ideas, your contributions, your efforts.
An advance notice, or logical reasons why that section is deleted should
at least show the admin cares. Unfortunately, that's not the case. I am
expecting for a better explaination for their action, if they have one.
Chips is leaving AW, now understand why.

We have an automated program that detects thread which has not been
updated for quite some time, and it will be deleted. We have to act
immediately when there is problem, and while we would want to give
advanced notice (like we always do - ie deleting in-active topic before
certain dates) but there are times when we have to make rather quick
decision - else the forum will not be running at all.
We are sorry for the inconvenience and please continue/start your
discussion at the "Know your car" thread.
We appreciate and thank you for your patient, participation and suggestion
in this free forum.

Too bad if this is used as an excuse to not treat the "community" properly.
