Just to share. I changed my fuel pump at Eon service center. The total
cost is RM 650. The pump cost about RM 450.

Well, I did ask the outside mechanic. He said should cost about 200 -
300. I sent it to EON cos I just wanted a peace of mind. Besides I was
wondering whether it could be due to other faults. Just wanted to be
sure. THe labor charges for fixing the pump was 80 and another 80 for
other checking.

Sorry to hijack this topic,

What's the life time of the fuel pump? How do we know its not function as
it used to? Question

Well for me, my fuel pump only lasted 4 years. There was no symptons
except that my car can't start. However, there is still a cranking sound
when you start your car. The mechanic came to check and he disconnected
the piping to the fuel injection unit at the top back of the engine and
tried to start the car. There was no petrol flowing out from the piping.

Just wondering how we will know if the fuel pump is failing. There's a
scratching sound in my car whenever it starts which a friend told me is
related to the fuel pump. Not sure if this was the same thing you all
experienced though..=)
