well,

quote:
The best car is the car that's working. And that means the car that is more
easily repaired (parts and mechanic competency) and in this part of the
world, it's the Neo.

not really. in the age of electronics and programming whatnot, i think they
are equal. for parts, 206 have long existed, longer than neo and the parts
are readily available in any spares shop that carry continental cars.
mechanics competency are in question because not all mechanics can handle
cars with electronics, furthermore, new campro engine.i have seen my
friend's new neo got problems from the start. seems like neo is not the car
that works(proper word for that).

quote:
206 may be more easily repaired worldwide but certainly not in Malaysia.
Not unless you want to send your 206 to France for repair

i think i dont agree with this. even if there are no naza workshop
available, u still can go to any continental car mechanics, which is
available nationwide. which is no doubt about that. i owned two peugeot and
i never send any of my cars to france(last i went there was in 1995). in
shah alam only, about 6 workshops that are specialised in peugeot/citroen.
if added with conti car mechanics, you are spoiled for choice.there are
even independent workshop that is owned by mechanics who went for
industrial training in france or italy.they are pioneer mechanics from the
early days of peugeot/citroen/alfa/etc authorised workshops in malaysia.
so why do u need to go to france ,when france can come to you.

even in the small town in parit buntar, there is a peugeot mechanics. just
get yr network right and you dont have to worry at all. buka mata dan hati.
if not u wont see any peugeots running around. spares are plenty and
cheap. if you are more resourceful, can buy it over the net, cheaper.u may
wonder that 405 brake pads(mintex) are cheaper than waja's(dont know what
brand). because they are produced in bigger volumes and that was absorbed
by the customers.they are produced in EU, maybe portugal or some other
poorer european countries, but then u know that they will follow certain
standards of quality. again, think globally and apply it locally. why do
you omit malaysia from worldwide? we are on other planet?

What you said might be true for KL or West Malaysia but not East Malaysia.
I had French cars before and I think those who knows how to repair British
or Germany cars may not necessarily know much about the French. The French
simply likes to do thing differently.

well, in east malaysia,
the default car is toyota, they live and die in toyota there.

yes the french might be different, but they are simpler than those germans
or swedish or any conti car. they just do it their own way. even i sailed
on french built ships, they are different from german, australian, japanesse
or koreans ones. and you see her ride the waves during a typhoon compared
to the japs and koreans, i swear i wont sail on japanese built ships again.
they just flex and heave around.

When I was overseas, I have had Renault 12 & 14 and...wait for it....a
ancient Simca.

May be not be much to look at but supremely comfortable and get the job
done. And the Citreon with their pneumatic suspension......If maintenance
& repairs aren't a problem, I would love to have French. But back to earth,
it has to be a Neo if I am in a market for one in Malaysia.

By The Way
performance wise go for Neo,,
handling wise go for 206,, this car seems to delay the gear shift from 2
to 3 lil bit longer then ussual,, eventhough the tiptronic will do the
magic but it still anoying,,
