What on earth is Spoon spec ? Spoon makes many different builds of engine and the Spoon ECU is mapped according to N1 Super Taikyu specs which is essentially Group N. Nothing special..

i can tell you are knowledgable in theory.. dont tell me you dont know which is TypeR engine lah..
by the way, so far i come across 3 type of Spoon ECU. Available in Sport version, N1 and GroupA ECU. i got the URL but i loss it. Spoon Sports which is design on street use, very good mid range power. Spoon N1 for racing and not sure about Spoon GroupA.

Ya Petel... i did read about the website of Spoon Sports, N1 and Class A before.
llsaw,
On my opinion, i think the Spoon Sports ECU can apply to most honda B16 Series engine, but not the N1 type. I have friend using Spoon Sports program over years and i dont see any program occur from their engine. I admire honda, low mod cost, high performance achieve even though i am just a WiraME driver.
I suggest we should drop this topic because this is performance proton forum maa... so not a suitable section to talk about honda.

llsaw : " I believe Mr Keong was and is always referring to street use and the popular "sprint" kind of racing be it street use or semi-street use "

All the engine I stated are for Type R class cars made by Honda. There's also the C32B. My point is precisely that. What engine are you referring to when you say Type R engine ? There are so many types..
Ichisima-san has hundreds of maps available but don't sell
them to the general public. There's no such thing as a std mapping and if they were they're most probably made for Group N+ racing which is closest to std production class. What ever you guys can call it. I generally do not believe in general ECU. Each engine is different and will require some finetuning. Also, the Japanese map their ignition advance very very aggresively as std Japanese petrol is 100 octane. Run that on our 97 octane petrol and you're liable to get some detonation... If you run a Mugen ECU it actually eliminates close loop and knock sensor control. If you encounter detonation the knock sensor has been deactivated and the ecu will not retard ignition timing. I'm sure you're well versed enough to know the end results of that..

Coolman,
I think I know Keong well enough for the answer. But if you want you're welcomed to ask him whether his example is for track only usage or semi-track/road usage..

Here's a feature on why a stock 4G93P is inferior to the Honda B series in terms of peak power output..

oh..maybe didn't state clearly. what i mean was when you spend the same amount of money into a mitsu engine and a honda engine, the power output is far difference between two. so in term of cost/benefit in NA mod, i consider honda low cost lo...
I think Mitsu and Nissan are more expert in doing big turbocharge engine. Thurs, honda markets the NA class in the world.
