Groove2409,

Auto Dunia stocks almost all parts. Common items, like
timing belt (RM310), fuel pump, water pump (RM600),
clutch, bearing kits, overhaul gaskets, body panels,
rear lights (RM350), front lights, bonnet, etc, all
are available. Prices are actually reasonable
comparable to Proton Perdana prices.

There are 2 other shops in KL that also sells Impreza
parts, independent of Auto Dunia. Also, some junk
shops, and of course, the ever famous Tech Tune.

If you can't get parts locally, you can get from
Singapore, which only has a 3% import tax, and is a
valuable source for cheap original parts.

What is most important that other owners of Japanese
supercars, fail to realise is, the availability of
parts by the local dealer is very important, and that
is why I know that if my water pump is busted, and I
am stuck in Kuantan, I know that I can courier the
part from KL, and get it fixed.

Ivan, Jason

thanks for the valuable reply..

actually my plan is to get an impreza the latest
model or maybe S15 silvia or R34....becos currently i
am studying in Aust. so car here kinda cheap ..very
cheap!!

here u can get WRX STI latest model 2nd for RM85K and
not to forget S15 for about RM60K depends on how u
bargins it... so kinda of waste if i didnt use my
student AP for something valauble

at first WRX was my last choice but since u guys have
mention that spareparts are kinda easy to get ..is up
in standing again:)

for Supra freaks....Aussie dont really go for Supra
dont know why maybe becos the FUEL here are damn
expensive and SUPRA drinks FUEL for breakfast n eat
it for Lunch!! so supra are kinda cheap!

Ivan, Jason thanks again....so u guys drive WRX ..wow
which models? must be hell freaky awesome to drive
one isnt it?:)

Groove2469,
Intend to get one. Have to sell my 1.8EXi DOHC
Proton Wira first. Yea, it's quite awesome to drive
one on the road. But bear in mind the capabilities of
this monster, thus, we still have to drive to the
legal traffic rules, drive carefully but as and when,
u'll feel like flooring the pedal, u know what i mean.
I'm sure all impreza owners does that, including Ivan,
i think. But just remember, do it safely and never
harm other street drivers. Big Smile

I thought u were getting the lancer Mivec?

anyway, the bug-eye impreza is version 7. It's just
like EVOs la. Impreza came out at the same time as
Evolution. And, every time Evo upgrades, Impreza also
did the same. Smile

Groove,

Please check whether Msia government still allow student to have a free AP
or not. The
last batch for student to be able to own the car, student must purchased the
car b4
September 1997. Common regulations are the car must be 3 years old b4
entering M`sia.
Must use be at least 6 months with provide the insurance certificates as a
prove.

I was one of the student import a car b4. I can assist u.

I think that the govt withdrew that privilege for students due to abuse.
It was found that certain companies approached students to ask them to
use their AP to bring back a car for the company to sell. This was clear
when students were bringing back very expensive cars - wouldn't you think
it is unusual for someone who just graduated to bring home a M-B SLK or
Porsche 911? OK, maybe some are really rich enough but I think the govt
found that there were some students who could afford such cars so where
di they get the money from? Perhaps the students got a small commission
for doing it but it is abuse of the privilege.

Yes, I agree with that. Cos I knew a few friend helped those car dealer
bringing back the car. From cheap to expensive. Cheap car means in UK are
cheap then re-cond. it in Msia before sell in the market. Normally old
Merz.
