ya, check the turbo rpm and you will change oil more often and use good oil! if not save 300 pay 3000 or more lagi teruk! unlike NA engine.

OKlah.. all car need to make lube change, but as a consumer, i do not want to "over service" the car. it is no harm to have frequent lube change but, if it can be extended OCI without compromising the engine integrity, then it would be a plus isn't it? before we have lebih kilometer, now we have pasti lebih jauh... so if we can do it better, why not?

cheers

Pal,

The turbine spin more than 200,000rpm and not just 10,000rpm..kaKAkaKAkaKAkaKAkaKAaKAkaKKAka...To take care of turbine, it is advisable to idle the engine for a while after some hard drive in order for the lube to circulate so it wont create a hotspot on the bearing...Besides that, good quality oil does matter..smile.gif

By right yes but this does not work in many contis due to their complicated ECU and wiring. If u put on timer, the car cant even lock itself and goes very very lean....sad.gif..

ya, just let it be and let is cool down before switching off or idle a while before driving off immediately - maybe this will help?

I think Toyota changed it few years to 10k. Should be only Honda need to change at 5k as for Japs...

I asked Toyota salesman that exact question and the answer has always been 5K.

I never had a petrol turbo before so don't know. But have been using turbo diesel for donkey's years and never any problem as long as you use good oil (mine always been Mineral), pay special attention to air filters and let engine idles a bit before shut down after a long hard drive.

BTW, how's the Exora quality nowadays? Still got little thing breaking off and frequent trip to the service center?

I prefers to use my head than follow the crowd. After all, it is my money and not theirs.
