I think majority of cars here, even the Vios, need to do oil change at 5K.

I think Toyota changed it few years to 10k. Should be only Honda need to change at 5k as for Japs...

i saw a engine rebuilt picture for this case before, the owner always slip the changing interval and lastly have to rebuilt the engine... 059.gif

very fast, 2-3 year time, u can see the outcome alr.

even use FS lube, u also have to change the oil filter every 5k... my junk use FS and i always change it when reach 7k-8k..

Change e oil and oil filter every 6 mths (for proton n toyota) even though mileage less than 5 k and using semi syn e oil. Better pay now than pay later.

(For all cars) if you are willing to pay now and not later, if do it this way easily 300,000k kms b4 engine need rebuilt or maybe still no need - cos by that mileage my cars usually belong to others (the next 2nd owner also untung)

My 1997 Wira changed oil once a year regardless mileage, during rd-tax renewal, uses el-cheapo mineral.
Just end last year my mechanic offered to buy it for his own use, citing fantastic condition. Go figure.

Important thing is don abuse it & it will serve u well.

Another thing for your chill -- I never change the 3-speeder ATF oil, yes, NEVER since new.The g/b is as strong as new.

well now for the FLX service interval was 10k kms by using fully syn oil....

not sure for this cfe tough...expect 5k-8k kms from the manual book.....

but it never hurt when change oil earlier than suggested...especially when taking the long service interval in our hot n humid weather into consideration...

Pal,

As a matter of fact, all my previous old car which is b4 year 2004..I changed it at every 5k. After that, I changed all my car to 10k or 6 mths. Driving a turbo car right now for 2 years and still change at 10k. Besides that, another car which is V8 with mileage of more than 130k currently also change at 10k. Seems like no problem at all...Even take out the valve cover to have alook and all pretty clean and tidy with literally no oil consumption at all..smile.gif

Besides that, previous Camry 2.4 is driven by my manager also maintain with the same oil and ori filter serviced at every 10k or b4 6 mths with mileage of more than 210k with NO oil consumption as well...smile.gif

I think it all depends on what type of oil use. By the way, the car above I mention is maintain with 0-30w FS oil and original filter. I think with newer tech as well as good tolerance engine, it should be better. I personally believed that not all oil are created the same. Diff FS might have diff impact and diff formulation..Very vogue to say and it is very general. However, I never fail to change at 10k...My limit is oni at 10k max. Never more than that...smile.gif
