Continental tyres excel in Euro summer tyre tests

Motoring clubs from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, namely ADAC, OAMTC and TCS respectively, have recently conducted a summer tyre test in Europe and published the test results in their respective magazines. A total of 36 tyres were tested, with only five being graded as ‘highly recommended’.

Among the ‘highly recommended’ rubbers tested were Continental’s ContiSportContact3 tested in size 225/45 R17, and the ContiPremiumContact2 tested in the smaller 185/65 R15 size. Also earning top marks in this test was the Uniroyal RainSport 2, tested in size 225/45 R17.

No less impressive in performance were the Semperit Comfort-Life and the debuting Barum Brillantis 2, both earning the ‘recommended’ grade.
