Uprated safety package for Ford Ranger
The already-generous Ford Ranger T6 raises its game, with all variants receiving uprated safety packages with ABS, dual frontal airbags, and electronic stability control now made standard for all variants and ISOFIX child seat mounts incorporated to all double cab variants.
Stability control was previously fitted only the range-topping 3.2 Wildtrak model whilst ABS and ISOFIX were only available in 2.2 XLT variants upwards. To accommodate the Ranger’s off-roading usage, the ABS system here incorporates Gravel Road Logic to improve stopping distance on loose surfaces.
Complementing the inclusion of ISOFIX into the double cab models is the addition of a three-point seat belt and head rest for the rear centre passenger. Audible front seat belt reminder, previously exclusive to the Wildtrak model, is similarly extended to all variants. Dual airbags are also made standard on all variants.
The Ranger has also been engineered to include Ford’s proprietary pedestrian protection features. The upgraded versions of the XL and XLT variants now include a front bumper design that incorporates energy-absorbing materials, an existing feature in the Wildtrak.
Other improvements that have been added to the Ranger XL Single Cab variant include a rear bumper and 16-inch steel wheels. Both the Single Cab and XL 4×2 Double Cab Lo-Rider variants are also now fitted with a radio and two speakers.
