KLIMS ’10 announces ticket prices
After a four year hiatus since 2006, the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS) is set to return to the fray in six months time. Scheduled for 3 – 12 December 2010, the motor show will be held on its traditional ground, the Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur.
Organizer of the event, the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) anticipates in excess of 300,000 visitors over the ten-day period. Tickets are priced at RM5 (students / children), RM15 (adult-weekdays), and RM20 (adult-weekends). There is the further option of a family pass which allows a married couple to bring up to five children below 12 years old into the exhibition. The family pass tickets are sold at RM30 on weekdays and RM40 on weekends.
“We made it a point to ensure that the ticket price for the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show ’10 (KLIMS’10) remains the same as that for the previous two editions in 2003 and 2006,” explained Y.Bhg. Datuk Aishah Ahmad, President of MAA and Chairman of KLIMS ’10 Organising Committee.
“There’s so much in store and something for everyone to look forward to. This opportunity does not come around everyday and really should not be missed. Otherwise, you will have to wait a few more years before the next motor show in Kuala Lumpur,” concluded Y.Bhg. Datuk Aishah Ahmad.
Writer’s Note: I was a member of the KLIMS 2003 ticketing team which indeed sold tickets at RM5, RM15 and RM20. We did not realize it at the time, but each day a huge amount of cash actually flowed through our hands.
We were given tickets in books, and each book had about 100 tickets. That translates to either RM500, RM1,500 or RM2,000 per book. Even on a poor day, any one of us would have sold at least 6 – 7 books of tickets. I recall that edition of KLIMS had raked a seven-figure sum from gate receipts alone. – KON
