Proton runs Saga ‘Snap & Win’ Photo Contest
As Proton lines up a series of activities to mark its 25th anniversary, it seemed only appropriate that at least one of those activities lined up pays tribute to the brand’s oldest nameplate – the Saga. Running from 24 May to 18 June 2010, the Saga ‘Snap & Win’ Photo Contest is open to all Malaysians, Saga owner or otherwise.
In a statement released to the press, it was stated that ‘the objectives of this campaign are to attain positive emotional association of Malaysians with Saga and to position Proton and Saga as a consistent mobile companion that ease all walks of lifestyles. The overall concept of the campaign revolves around the intended message of Saga being a faithful friend.’
Entries will be split into two categories – Old Saga and New Saga. The Old Saga category covers all versions of the original Saga Orion based on the Mitsubishi Lancer Fiore and the subsequent facelifts, namely the Saga Magma, Saga Megavalve, Iswara, and the Saga LMST, the final iteration of this model. The New Saga category, of course, is limited to the new Saga BLM.
Upon closing of submission, a panel of judges will narrow things down to 50 shortlisted entries – 25 for each category. An online poll will be setup, running from 21st to 28th June 2010, accounting for 30% of the overall scoring. The remaining 70% is determined by judges, who will evaluate the entries based on relevancy, originality and creativity. In addition, the 50 entries will also tour the nation in a series of roadshows starting July 2010.
Each category will have a grand prize of RM25,000 each, followed by RM8,000 for each second-placed entry, and RM5,000 for each third-placed entry. Five consolation prizes worth RM1,000 are also on offer for each category. The prize giving ceremony will take place on 9 July 2010 during the Proton 25th Anniversary Gala Dinner at KL Convention Centre.
