Nissan Lightfoot Quest 2010 open for registration
Following a successful turn out in 2008, the Nissan Lightfoot Quest returns for 2010, with participation open for owners of the Grand Livina, Sylphy, and Latio. The event will take place on 16 May 2010, with participants required to drive their cars through a pre-charted route from Holiday Inn Glenmarie, Shah Alam to Orna Golf Resort, Ayer Keroh.
The participating cars will be split into four categories. Sylphy owners will be isolated in a category of their own, while participants using the Latio and Grand Livina will be mixed up and split according to their powertrain specs – 1.6 M/T, 1.6 A/T, and 1.8 A/T.
In each category are cash prizes in the order of RM3,000 for 1st, RM2,000 for 2nd and RM1,000 for 3rd, with a further RM1,000 each in store for the best Latio and best Grand Livina finishers respectively.
On the day before the event, competing cars will undergo their final fuel top-up and have their fuel tanks sealed before being cordoned off and placed under tight security at the flag off point of Holiday Inn Glenmarie for the night. Not even owners will have access to their vehicles.
The cars will be flagged off the next day, with the finishing line set at the Petronas Ayer Keroh station in Malacca. After having their cars refueled at the finishing line, the participants will then adjourn to the Orna Golf Resort for lunch and prize presentation.
In addition, prior to the event, all competing vehicles will be entitled for a free check-up at selected Edaran Tan Chong Motor workshops, although parts & labour fees if deemed necessary will be chargeable. There will also be a free briefing on economical driving techniques open to participants before the Quest.
In the previous Nissan Lightfoot Quest held in 2008, a Nissan Grand Livina 1.8 piloted by Liew Kok Seng & Julie Tan famously clocked an astonishing 56.58km/l consumption figure. This then, is the figure to beat this time round.
Interested participants may get in touch with ETCM personnel at crd@tanchong.com.my or 1-800-88 8368. Registration closes on 10 May 2010, and is limited to a maximum of 35 cars (2 person per car only).
