Nissan Hole-in-One Achievers try their luck at the Finals
BUKIT KEMUNING – For the twelfth successive year, golfers who scored aces at golf clubs participating in the Nissan National Hole-in-One Challenge were brought together for the Grand Finals, which took place at Bukit Kemuning Golf & Country Resort on the 6th of March. The Grand Finals is an invite-only event that allows this elite group of golfers a chance to battle it out for the title of ‘Achiever of Achievers’.
During the tournament, should any participant score a hole in one on any of the Par 3 holes, they would go home a proud owner of a brand new Nissan Sylphy 2.0L (X-CVT) Luxury Navi Package priced at RM120,380.00 on-the-road in Peninsula Malaysia. To date, there has been no one lucky enough to do just that. Joining the achievers for the round of golf were corporate VIPs, members of the media and also senior staff of ETCM.
Eventual champion of the Achiever division, Puan Zarina Jan from Ipoh, was very pleased with the course conditions and commended the tournament on being well organized. Though this tournament wasn’t her first, she was pleasantly surprised at the very friendly field of golfers she met during the event. When asked how she felt after winning the Grand Finals, she graciously admitted that it was just a good day for her and she even felt lucky for walking away with the top spot. She went on to say that scoring the ace that qualified her for this event made her immensely proud and she never dreamt that she could ever achieve such a feat.
The Nissan National Hole-in-One challenge is a nationwide program bringing together 50 premier golfing destinations around Malaysia including several as far as Borneo. After 12 successful seasons, this program is easily the longest running golf program in Malaysia and has been steadily gathering a strong reputation as one of the top hole-in-one competitions in the country. Though there is huge demand for inclusion by non-participating golf clubs in Malaysia, ETCM has declared that it does not plan to increase membership for anytime in the near future to maintain the exclusivity of the program.
ETCM took the time to thank its business partners during the opening ceremony singling out Senheng and V-Kool who has been a sponsor of the program since its inception in 1998. Other sponsors who participated in the past year’s program were Business Today Magazine, AXA Assurance, Berjaya Sompo, Etiqa Insurance, Jerneh Insurance, Lonpac Insurance, MSIG Insurance, Progressive Insurance, RHB Insurance and Tokio Marine Insurance.
With around 3 million rounds of golf played at participating golf clubs in the past year, these corporations believe that there is huge potential for exposure of their products as well as their branding. Signages of this program are well placed at participating golf courses, which offer an alternative advertising avenue to reach the corporation’s target audience.
This event also marked the launch of the 2010 season by Mr. Khoo Cheng Pah, Sales Director of Edaran Tan Chong Motor who said, “It has provided Edaran Tan Chong Motors a unique way of building relationships and business through this program. It gives me great pleasure to see the Nissan National Hole-In-One Challenge, with its uniqueness, has found a common ground with different organizations in the industry coming together as partners outside of their work environment”.
ETCM is the sole distributor of Nissan automobiles in Malaysia. Besides creating an incentive for talented golfers in Malaysia, ETCM has set out to reaffirm its position as a major player in the motor industry in Malaysia through the Nissan National Hole-in-One Challenge, as well as also establish itself as a credible supporter of golf.
The program is unique because any golfer, whether male or female, who scores a hole in one in any of the participating golf clubs immediately becomes a member of the Nissan Club 100, which includes several perks such as a certificate of achievement, a goodie bag and of course, an invitation to the grand finals.
