2008 Malaysian Auto Industry Awards for Grand Livina & Sylphy

    KUALA LUMPUR (18th July 2008) – The Nissan GRAND LIVINA won the “Best Value For Money MPV” award and the newly launched Nissan SYLPHY won the “Best Handling Family Sedan” award in the inaugural Asian Auto – VCA Auto Industry Awards ceremony held on 5th July 2008.

    The Asian Auto – VCA Auto Industry Awards is the 1st annual awards conducted by Asian Auto magazine – the 1st motoring magazine in Malaysia which started operations 35 years ago. The objective of the 5th July 2008 inaugural awards ceremony is to acknowledge and recognise some of the best vehicles that had been introduced into the Malaysian market in the past 12 months (June 2007 to mid June 2008) with a focus on the real value propositions and the true intrinsic value of each vehicle judged. The title sponsor for the event is VCA who is the designated United Kingdom Vehicle Type Approval authority with a local office in Kelana Jaya, Malaysia. VCA comes with more than 30 years experience in providing internationally recognized testing and certification for vehicles, vehicle systems and components.

    A total of 33 car companies were invited to represent all the automotive brands that are currently available in the country.

    The Grand Livina has successfully garnered total sales bookings of more than 16,000 units since launching in December 2007 while the SYLPHY has close to 1,500 sales bookings since its launch on 26th June 2008.
