Kuala Lumpur, 7 March 2007 – Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) officially unveiled a variant of the Myvi today. Named the Myvi Special Edition or SE, it is targeted at people who want to have a Myvi that is more outstanding than all the ordinary Myvi’s running around. And there are plenty of them, considering that Perodua has delivered more than 127,000 units as of today, some 22 months after its initial launch in May 2005. This new variant has some look-good features that makes it look a little different.

New features found on the exterior include the front and rear bumper, which have been extended somewhat to give a more sporty shape to the Myvi. Small fog lamps have been built into the front bumper while two vertical slit-type reflectors adorn the rear. Other look good stuff includes new alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, side skirts, and a chrome muffler cutter.

On the inside, the instrument panel now has a blue background, while the seats are leather-bound.

“When we launched the Myvi in 2005, the response was overwhelming and we received very encouraging response about the model. From the feedback we looked at how we can further improve the design of the Myvi to accommodate the ever-increasing demand of the customers. The Myvi SE offers the customers a more contemporary look without compromising the quality and technology,” explained Hafiz Abu Bakar, managing director of Perodua.

Available in three colours, namely Ebony Black, Ivory white, and Mistik red, the Myvi SE has an on-the-road price ranging from RM48,000 to RM53,000.

We at AW have been promised a test car within the next week or so….stay tuned to this site!
