Volvo Launches C70 Convertible
Kuala Lumpur, Friday 17 November 2006 – Volvo Cars Malaysia launched the Volvo C70 Convertible today at the KL Convention Centre. The simple ceremony was attended by approximately 300 guests and media members. First introduced at the KL International Motorshow earlier this year, the C70 comes with a retractable top that is electrically controlled. The top folds neatly like a ‘transformer’ toy, into the boot.
The C70 comes in two engine variants. The 2.4 litre naturally aspirated version shares the same engine as the S40, and is priced at RM350k, on-the-road without insurance, while the hotter version sports a 2.5 litre turbo charged engine, and is priced at RM400k on-the-road without insurance.
Both cars are front engine, front wheel drive, and carries many safety features that are typical of Volvo. More detailed specifications are forthcoming, and we should be doing a full test drive soon. Stay tuned!
