Alex Yoong Scores 2nd Place in Indonesia
Sunday 12 february 2006 – Alex Yoong just did Malaysia proud today by scoring a place on the winners’ podium in the Indonesian leg of the A1 GP. Startin from sixth on the grid, Alex had a great start, jostling his way into second place on the opening lap.
On the same lap, Indonesia made contact with another car and stalled, resulting in the safety car coming out. After the restart, Netherlands took Malaysia for second place, and France lost its nose cone after hitting Malaysia in the rear.
After the pit stops, Malaysia was relegated to 15th place, but with determined driving and regaining places as other cars pitted, Malaysia finished a very credible second place behind Canada.
