UMW Toyota Motor Records Strong July Sales, Expands Lexus Lineup, Launches Merdeka Promotions
UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) recorded strong sales in July 2024, achieving over 9,000 units sold. This brings the total year-to-date sales to more than 55,800 units. This achievement is a result of UMWT’s strategic focus on innovation and customer satisfaction, which has been central to driving successful initiatives and promotions.
To continue riding this momentum, UMWT had expanded its Lexus lineup with the introduction of 2 new models i.e. the Lexus RZ 450e all-electric SUV, its first fully dedicated BEV model, as well as the Lexus LBX, a self-charging hybrid targeted at those looking at the entry-level premium SUV segment, or secondary ride for the household. These launches are part of Lexus Malaysia’s ‘More than Electric’ campaign, which emphasises the brand’s commitment to a comprehensive electrification strategy that includes both hybrid and fully electric vehicles for a sustainable ecosystem.

This campaign offers significant savings, including up to RM8,000 off the Corolla Cross Hybrid Electric, with monthly purchase instalments starting at RM1,058. The Toyota Service Savers programme also provides customers with convenient instalment options beginning at just RM31 per month.
To further engage with the community and celebrate Malaysia’s independence, UMWT also hosted the Merdeka Showroom Weekender last weekend. This nationwide event was held at all Toyota showrooms and offered test drives of popular models such as the Vios, Yaris, Corolla Cross Hybrid Electric, and Hilux, along with opportunities for community involvement and engagement. Visitors intending to buy a vehicle were also given options of trade-in as well as consider pre-owned options through Topmark outlets.
