Honda Malaysia Keeps Top Position In Non-National Segment

Honda Malaysia shared that it has kept the top position in the Non-National Passenger Vehicle Segment with sales of over 80,000 vehicles, achieving its sales target for 2023. With this achievement, Honda Malaysia has held the lead in this segment consecutively since 2014.

The year 2023 was one of gradual recovery and a positive outlook for the company as it launched 4 new models i.e. WR-V, City, Civic Type R and CR-V. Its top 3 best-selling models in 2023 were City, HR-V and City Hatchback which contributed 30%, 25% and 13% respectively to its overall sales. In addition, the WR-V, HR-V, CR-V and Civic were sales leaders in their respective segments.

“2023 proved to be a challenging year where we faced a competitive market. However, Honda Malaysia managed to overcome and achieved our sales target in 2023 with strong support from our dealers and the Malaysian Government. Additionally, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all Honda customers who have played a crucial role in this achievement through their unwavering support towards the Honda brand,” said Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Hironobu Yoshimura.

The Honda WR-V compact SUV was a significant contributor to the company’s sales numbers. Launched in July 2023, Honda managed to sell over 7,800 units of the WR-V within the first 6 months of launch. The RS variant had been the largest contributor, accounting for 60% of its total sales to-date.Honda WR-V_1.5 RS
