UMW Toyota Motor Hits Record Monthly Sales In October 2023
October 2023 was a good month for UMW Toyota Motor as it hit a record monthly sales high of 10,931 vehicles. This is the highest-ever monthly sales for the company in the past 5 years. Making up this achievement are mainly Toyota vehicles (10,709 units), while Lexus made up 222 units.
This brings the company’s total total year-to-date sales as of October 2023 to 87,422 vehicles. In comparison, sales for the first 10 months of 2022 was 80,153 vehicles.
Even with this positive result, UMW Toyota Motor wants to continue this sales growth for the remaining months of the year. For November, it is running several promotions to boost sales, including the “Celebrate the Symphony of Lights” promo. Customers would be able to secure up to 100% financing for selected models, with promotional benefits of up to RM15,000 available across a wide range of Toyota models, including the all-new Vios and the Yaris.
Additionally, the Toyota Service Savers programme offers convenient monthly instalments starting from as low as RM18.
To meet sales demand, there is continuous enhancements made at both the Bukit Raja and Shah Alam manufacturing facilities. This is also done to refine the production processes and optimise completely knocked down (CKD) operations and capacity.
The company also expects its recently launched Toyota Alphard and Vellfire models to contribute to its sales although they sit within the niche premium MPV segment. “In an ever-evolving automotive landscape, the Toyota Alphard and Vellfire stand as beacons of innovation and sophistication. Furthermore, in support of a more sustainable future, UMW Toyota had been active in the UMW Green Shoots (UGS) Initiative. This initiative aligns with the National 100-million Tree-Planting Campaign 2020-2050, with the theme “Green Malaysia. Our Trees. Our Life.”
With a goal of planting 300,000 trees by 2023, symbolising the average total number of vehicles sold annually, UMW’s efforts contribute to Toyota’s broader commitment of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, effectively mitigating CO2 emissions. For 2023, UMW Toyota Motor plans to plant 12,000 trees, with a special emphasis on mangrove trees, recognised for their exceptional benefits to the ecosystem.
