Perodua Forms Strategic Partnerships With Petronas & Gentari To Enhance Customer Experience & Prepare For EV Future

Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd has signed 2 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Petronas Dagangan Berhad and Gentari Sdn Bhd, both subsidiaries of PETRONAS. These MoUs mark a significant step for Perodua towards enhancing customer convenience and preparing for electric vehicle (EV) adoption.

The first MoU involves a collaboration between Perodua Sales and 3 PETRONAS subsidiaries i.e. Petronas Lubricants Marketing Sdn Bhd (PLMMSB), Mesra Retail & Café Sdn Bhd, and Setel Ventures Sdn Bhd. This partnership aims to improve Perodua’s service offerings through the integration of Setel’s digital payment system into the UFirst mobile app, the inclusion of Mesra convenience stores at service centres, and the establishment of Perodua service facilities at selected PETRONAS stations.Petronas_Station_Sign

“Perodua Sales and PLMMSB have been partners for over 20 years and that partnership has proven mutually beneficial and we will further expand this partnership that will benefit our valued customers,” Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad said.

PLMMSB had been Perodua’s sole provider of vehicle lubricants since 2004, and now will collaborate with Perodua Sales to implement sustainability-driven practices, aligning with Malaysia’s push toward green mobility.Perodua_Service Centre_Showroom

Meanwhile, the second MoU, signed with Gentari through its subsidiary Gentari Green Mobility Sdn Bhd, focuses on EV infrastructure development. Gentari will establish EV charging facilities at Perodua service centres to support the automaker’s upcoming launch of affordable electric vehicles. “Overall, these MoUs will allow seamless cooperation between both national companies to serve our customers better,” Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin added.

“We welcome Perodua’s vision to launch an affordable EV by 2025. Gentari is excited to collaborate with Perodua in our effort to drive greater adoption of green mobility in Malaysia. By improving charging accessibility and convenience, Gentari aims to enhance the experience for future Perodua EV drivers, thus elevating customer satisfaction and building loyalty. Key initiatives in our collaboration include the installation of EV charging facilities at Perodua service centres, especially at PETRONAS stations, offering access to EV charging subscriptions and home charging solutions, and seamless integration with the Gentari Go platform,” commented Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Gentari and Chief Executive Officer of Gentari Green Mobility, Shah Yang Razalli. Perodua_EV_Showcase

With such a widespread network, these partnerships are set to provide a deeper foundation for Malaysia’s transition to electrified mobility.

Petronas Dagangan Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Azrul Osman Rani highlighted the strong partnership between the brands: “For over 2 decades, PETRONAS and Perodua have enjoyed a strong partnership that brings quality and reliability to millions of drivers nationwide. This expanded collaboration will deepen our joint commitment to enhancing customer experience across every interaction, from superior lubricants to digital convenience and everyday essentials.” Perodua_MoU_Petronas Dagangan_Mesra Retail_Lubricants_Gentari_Setel
