Jaecoo J7 PHEV Completes 1,300 KM Drive; Launching In Malaysia End 2024

Malaysia has joined a select group of 7 nations to put the Jaecoo J7 PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) to the test in an ultra-long range driving marathon from the city of Guangzhou to Wuhu in China. The multinational contingent, which included drivers from Italy, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Turkey, and the UK, covered over 1,300 km (NEDC range) on a single tank of fuel and a full battery charge, without stopping to recharge. Jaecoo J7 PHEV_China

The event was organised to highlight the Jaecoo J7 PHEV’s ability to overcome range anxiety, a common concern among drivers considering electric vehicles. According to Chery Corporate Malaysia Executive Vice President, Leo Chen, the company “understands that range anxiety is a concern among drivers when it comes to electric vehicles. This is why Jaecoo placed the J7 PHEV in the hands of drivers from around the world to witness the unprecedented experience of travelling with confidence and peace of mind. Our strategy to introduce the Jaecoo J7 PHEV is timely as the market demands the best of both worlds, engine performance and fuel efficiency”.

Breaking New Ground In PHEV Range

The driving marathon kicked off on 16 October 2024, with participants facing 13-hour drive in a variety of driving conditions, from congested city streets to long intercity expressways. The Jaecoo J7 PHEV, which claims to be class-leading in fuel consumption (5.99 litres per 100 km) as well as in pure electric driving range (106 km*), had exceeded expectations by covering 125.2 km in pure electric mode – 19.2 km* more than its stated range.

“This is a testament to Jaecoo’s Super Hybrid System (SHS) Technology which empowers the Jaecoo J7 PHEV to maintain an efficient and energy-saving driving state. This raises the bar for energy efficient and economical mobility, and we are proud to introduce the Jaecoo J7 PHEV for the Malaysian market to enjoy,” commented Emily Lek, Vice President of Jaecoo Malaysia.Jaecoo J7 PHEV_7 Countries Marathon_Team Malaysia
