Land Rover Malaysia Opens Registration For Defender OCTA

Land Rover Malaysia has announced that the latest Defender OCTA is open for registration of interest. Based on the Defender 110, this is the most dynamically accomplished Defender ever created, with unmatched breadth of capability and performance both on- and off-road.

The Defender OCTA is powered by a 4.4L Twin Turbo mild-hybrid V8 engine which delivers a staggering 635 PS (626 hp) and up to 750 Nm of torque. The powertrain delivers peak torque from 1,800 rpm to about 6,000 rpm, providing exceptional drivability and performance across all conditions. This also helps propel the Defender OCTA from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds. Riding on 22″ lightweight alloy wheels and all-season tyres, the Defender OCTA can reach speeds of up to 249 km/h.

Featuring heavily revised chassis components and 6D Dynamics suspension, the OCTA offers unmatched dynamic capabilities. The ride height is raised, stance widened, and wheel arches extended for an imposing presence. Redesigned bumpers enhance approach and departure angles, while robust underbody protection and the ability to wade through up to 1 metre of water ensure it can tackle the toughest terrains.

The Defender OCTA sports a bolder, tougher look with extended wheel arches, raised ride height, and new bumpers. OCTA’s name is derived from the toughest and most desirable mineral on earth i.e. a diamond, and the octahedral shape that gives the distinctive appearance and durability. This shape also inspired the new signature graphic, which denotes it as the flagship Defender i.e. strong and resilient, yet striking, rare and desirable.

Every Defender OCTA wears a new encircled diamond graphic, including a gloss black diamond within a machined and sandblasted titanium disc on each Signature Graphic panel. There is a choice of 2 premium metallic finishes: Petra Copper and Faroe Green.

Inside, the Defender OCTA offers a curated selection of high-quality materials. The Edition One variant, which is available in the first year of production, comes in Faroe Green and features Khaki and Ebony Ultrafabrics PU, which is 30% lighter than traditional leather, and seam-less Knit interior, Chopped Carbon Fibre detailing and 20″ forged alloy wheels with Advanced All-Terrain Tyres.

For Defender OCTA, the standard interior is a new Burnt Sienna semi-aniline leather, with Kvadrat textile trim in Ebony. Alternatively, any Defender OCTA can be specified with Ultrafabrics PU in Light Cloud and Lunar, or semi-aniline leather in Ebony.

The front row of Defender OCTA features all-new Performance Seats with more supportive bolsters and integrated headrests. Defender’s close association with music is also brought to the fore with immersive Body and Soul Seat audio technology – available for the first time in Defender. The Body and Soul Seat has been developed in collaboration with music industry experts SUBPAC and Coventry University, allowing the driver and front passenger to feel, as well as hear, the music. There are 6 wellness programmes available to help relax occupants or help improve cognitive responses on the move, depending on their preference.

Further, the OCTA’s dynamic capabilities are enhanced by hydraulically-interlinked 6D Dynamics suspension technology. The suspension system ensures superior ground clearance and stability, with upgraded wishbones, active dampers, and Brembo calipers for exceptional control on any terrain.

The Defender OCTA features advanced drive modes, including Comfort Mode, Dynamic Mode, and the exclusive OCTA Mode for off-road performance. These modes optimise steering, throttle, and suspension settings, while off-road driver aids like ClearSight Ground View enhance visibility and confidence on rough terrain.
