GWM Ora Good Cat Earns Top Marks And Wins Green NCAP Awards
The GWM Ora Good Cat has been recognised with top honours by Green NCAP, exhibiting the company’s commitment to efficiency and environmental impact. Achieving an average test score of 97%, the Ora Good Cat secured a 5-star Green rating. With this result, it was announced as the winner of Green NCAP’s ‘Small Family Car’ and ‘Full Electric Car’ categories.
The evaluation criteria incorporates several factors, including tailpipe pollutant emissions, energy or fuel consumption efficiency, total greenhouse emissions related to the production and supply of the fuel / energy. The Ora Good Cat’s environmental performance was also tested in Green NCAP’s Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) separately and earned it the ‘Greener Choice’ award for 2023 due to it having the lowest overall environmental impact throughout its complete vehicle lifecycle.
“The responsibility for cleaner air might just lie more on the shoulders of industry rather than on regulators. We hope these Category Winners give guidance on which brands are making progress in a sustainable direction,” commented Dr Aleksandar Damyanov, Technical Manager at Green NCAP.
Green NCAP also commended Ora Good Cat for its efficiency across diverse conditions, attributing to the “use of its aerodynamic design and high charging efficiency, helping improve its overall consumption and reducing costs for the consumers”.

Besides the Ora Good Cat, GWM’s presence in Europe includes its sub-brand, Wey. The Wey Coffee 01 and Coffee 02 SUVs also secured Euro NCAP 5-star ratings and annual model accolades (the ‘Coffee’ label will be dropped this year). In 2023, the Wey Coffee 01 also achieved Green NCAP 5-star rating, a testament to GWM’s position and commitment to reducing environmental impact. 
For 2024 and beyond, GWM is looking to introduce more models and services to Malaysia to strengthen its portfolio here.
