First Chery Eco Run Attracts Over 3,400 Participants

The first Chery Eco Run held in Malaysia recently attracted over 3,400 participants. Running with the theme ‘A New Journey To A New Green Life’, the fun run event held in Putrajaya had 2 categories i.e. 5 KM and 10 KM.

“Chery Eco Run serves as a significant stepping stone for us as we stride towards a future where electric vehicles and green technology seamlessly integrate with today’s active lifestyle, fostering a healthier living environment,” said Chery Malaysia President, Leo Chen.

“As a brand, Chery aims not only to be recognised within this shift but also to take a pioneering role in driving these advancements,” he added.

Mr Chen flagged off the 10 KM run for more seasoned runners together with Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry YB Senator Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz who also took part in the run. Meanwhile the 5 KM category was then flagged off by MITI Secretary General Dato’ Hairil Yahri Yaacob.

With initiatives like the Chery Eco Run, Chery Malaysia hopes to raise more awareness and promote a culture that is environmentally responsible, as well as to encourage local communities to lead a heathier lifestyle. A team of runners from Little Fighter Runners (Persatuan Pelari Anak Luar Biasa) also joined the Chery Eco Run and their entry fee was taken care of by Chery Malaysia. According to Chen, Chery Malaysia is looking at making this an annual event based on the overwhelming response.

The Chery Eco Run also gave participants and visitors a chance to view Chery’s fleet of vehicles such as the Omoda 5, Tiggo 8 Pro and the upcoming all-electric Omoda E5.
