Shell Recharge Station In Genting Highlands Will Include Ultra Fast 360 kW Charging
Shell Recharge is currently in the process of setting up an EV charging station in Genting Highlands which will include the availability of ultra-fast 360 kW high-performance chargers (HPC). The 10 charging bays at the peak of Resorts World Genting will consist of 10 charging bays to further improve the seamless electric mobility experience. 
This new Shell EV charging hub, which is expected to be ready by early 2024, will add to the 136 charging points that Shell Recharge has in strategic locations in major cities and along the highways of Peninsular Malaysia. This is part of Shell’s initiative to provide a more convenient way of travel for electric vehicles between Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. The Genting facility is also made possible with the strategic partnership with Porsche Malaysia and Genting Malaysia Berhad. There are also plans to set up EV charging points in Resorts World Awana. 
This all-in-one EV charging hub will be fitted with 10 bays where 4 bays provide 360 kW high-performance charging while 6 bays provide 22 kW AC charging for those who are planning to spend more time in Genting Highlands. All chargers come with CCS Type 2 charging connectors.

Also of importance is the change in Shell Recharge rates from a per minute basis to per kilowatt-hour (kWh) basis. Effective 1 November, 2023, EV drivers can charge with the new kWh rates when they charge with AC chargers nationwide. For Shell’s DC charging stations, the new rates by kWh will take effect on 15 December 2023. The Shell Recharge model maintains a reservation fee and will implement an idle fee across different the charging bays to ensure accessibility to all EV drivers.

For a seamless and worry-free journey, customers can still reserve parking bay in advance via Shell’s ParkEasy app. Other features include navigation access for EV customers to assist drivers in locating available bays and a parking barrier to ensure the bay’s availability. You can also get preferential rates by paying for a Shell Recharge membership via the ParkEasy app. Or buy a Porsche Taycan to enjoy those rates.
