Retail Prices Of Lotus Eletre And Emira Revised
Lotus Cars Malaysia, the sole franchise holder for Lotus in Malaysia, has revised the retail prices of the electric Eletre Hyper-SUV and the premium Emira sports car, which take immediate effect. The price revision is mainly caused by the unfavourable trend of currency exchange rates.
The new retail price for the Lotus Eletre S mid-range is now RM698,000 (launch price: RM648,000) while the range-topping Eletre R variant is now RM838,000 (from RM798,000). The prices listed for the Eletre are applicable in both Peninsular Malaysia and Langkawi. As for the base variant of the Eletre, the new retail price will be announced in due course as this variant will not be available until at least 2025.
The Eletre takes the core principles and Lotus DNA from almost 75 years of sports car design and engineering, and has incorporated them into this next-generation vehicle. All 3 variants i.e. Eletre, Eletre S and Eletre R are fitted with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain. The base Eletre and Eletre S deliver 603 hp and 710 Nm of torque with 0 – 100 km/h performance of 4.5 seconds, 80 – 120 km/h in less than 2.2 seconds and top speeds of 258 km/h.
Meanwhile, the flagship Eletre R offers an impressive output of 905 hp and 985 Nm of torque. Capable of delivering a century sprint time of just 2.95 seconds and an acceleration of 80 – 120 km/h in less than 1.9 seconds with a top speed of 265 km/h, it is currently the world’s fastest dual-motor pure electric SUV.
All three variants use a 112 kWh battery which gives a maximum WLTP driving range of 600 km for the Eletre and Eletre S and a WLTP range of 490 km for the Eletre R. Built on Lotus’ all-new and highly versatile 800-volt Electric Premium Architecture (EPA) and equipped with a 350 kW fast charger, the Eletre takes just 20 minutes to get from 10% to 80% SoC (state of charge). The Eletre also comes with the ability as standard to accept 22kW AC charging.
The Lotus Eletre comes with a 5-year (or 150,000 km) manufacturer’s warranty, while the battery comes with an 8-year (or 200,000 km) warranty.
For the Lotus Emira, the Emira i4 First Edition which was recently introduced has a retail price of RM1,095,000 (Peninsular Malaysia) and RM509,000 (Langkawi), effective 1 September 2023 for new factory orders. However, limited units are still available at the introductory price of RM998,800 on a first-come, first-served basis and while stocks last.
Meanwhile, the Lotus Emira V6 First Edition now costs RM1,289,000 in Peninsular Malaysia (increased from RM1,205,800) and RM529,000 in Langkawi (up from RM478,800). Similarly for the automatic version of the Emira V6 First Edition, the new retail price is RM1,309,000 in Peninsular Malaysia (up from RM1,225,800) and RM539,000 in Langkawi (up from RM493,800). Prices listed for the Emira are on-the-road, without insurance, with tax for Peninsular Malaysia and without, for duty-free Langkawi.
The Emira mid-engine premium sports car is designed to show off what is expected from a Lotus i.e. striking design, thrilling dynamic performance delivering best-in-class ride and handling, outstanding aerodynamics and an unrivalled experience ‘For The Drivers’.
Riding on the legacy of Elise, Exige and Evora, the Emira represents a quantum leap forward for Lotus. Those instantly recognisable brand signatures and core values have been combined with a paradigm shift in levels of practicality, comfort, functionality and technology.
The most powerful 4-cylinder from Lotus, the Emira i4 features the 2.0L turbocharged aluminium engine and 8-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT) sourced from Mercedes-AMG. It produces 360 bhp and 430 Nm of torque and is capable of doing a 0 – 100 km/h sprint in 4.4 seconds, with speed topping out at 290 km/h.
The Emira V6 on the other hand, is uses by a 3.5L supercharged V6 petrol engine with 400 bhp and either 420 Nm of torque (manual version) or 430 Nm (automatic option). All variants of the Lotus Emira come with a 3-year unlimited mileage manufacturer’s warranty.
To get a first-hand look at both models, you can visit the Lotus Store at Level 3, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur (only until 30 September 2023) where a Solar Yellow Eletre S and a Magma Red Emira V6 are on display. The Emira i4 is identical in exterior and interior styling to its V6 counterpart.
