Datuk Aishah Ahmad Passes Away

Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) President, Datuk Aishah Ahmad, has passed away on 2 February 2023. She was 71. Datuk Aishah has been the President of MAA since 2000 and is one of the longest-serving executives in the automotive industry.

Datuk Aishah was an industry stalwart who had made substantial contributions to the Malaysian motoring industry throughout her career. She had served in many roles and had been an integral part of the Sime Darby Motors group, involved in such brands as Jaguar, Land Rover, Ford and Hyundai.

Among the automotive groups which are mourning her loss is DRB-HICOM. Dato’ Sri Syed Faisal Albar, Group Managing Director of DRB-HICOM, commented that Datuk Aishah is irreplaceable and that her legacy is the impact she made on the industry she so loved.

“Her leadership, vision, and dedication in running the MAA have made a lasting impact on the industry and she will be remembered as a tireless champion for the growth and development of the automotive sector in Malaysia. Her passing is a great loss to the industry and the entire community,” said Dato’ Sri Syed Faisal.
