The Perodua Myvi Is The King At Maxim
At Maxim, the app-based ride hailing service, the Perodua Myvi is also king among its fleet. But it has more to do with the Myvi being at the top of the list more than anything else. According to Maxim Malaysia, the Myvi is the most preferred model used by the drivers in the ride hailing fleet. This should not be a huge surprise really, as the Myvi is one of the most popular for Perodua in terms of car sales. Some of the key reasons for its popularity include fuel efficiency, adequate cabin room and reliability. The other models popularly used in ride hailing are the Axia and Bezza, both also from Perodua, due to their affordability, practicality and reliability.
On another portion of Maxim’s survey, it has found that a significant number of its drivers are within the ages of 18 – 35 years. The age group makes up 56% of all its ride hailing drivers. Maxim does not limit nor prefer a particular group as it provides opportunities to everyone to join as its driver. However, all drivers are required to have a competent driving license (CDL) and e-hailing vehicle permit (eVP) from the relevant authorities before they can start. Maxim drivers also have the flexibility to choose their schedule, becoming either a full-time or part-time driver.
The Maxim on-demand transportation service is available in Peninsular Malaysia as well as East Malaysia in both Sabah and Sarawak. The services provided include ride hailing, food delivery, transportation of bulky goods and other trucking services, at reasonable rates.
Maxim has operations in several countries in Central Asia, Southeast Asia and South America. It started in Malaysia in 2018 and currently covers about 35 towns and cities throughout the country, including Kuantan and Sibu. The use of e-hailing services should be sustainable as it offers an alternative to car commuting without the worry of parking, especially in the cities. With service presence in smaller cities and towns, it also gives the choice of travelling to these areas by mass transportation e.g. coach or train, and then moving around via ride hailing.
As an aside, According to Maxim Malaysia, the most common name among Maxim drivers is Muhammad (or any of its spelling variants). This is followed by Abdul and Nur. So when you hail a Maxim ride, the chances of you getting a Muhammad, aged between 18 – 35 years, and driving a Perodua Myvi is very high.
