The arrival of the Flying Spur Hybrid heralds a new era of electrified Bentley models in Malaysia. Built on the highly successful 3rd generation Flying Spur, the hybrid model uses an innovative combination powertrain to deliver the most efficient Bentley ever produced (at an average of just 75g of CO2 emissions per kilometre, according to WLTP cycles).

The hybrid powertrain combines a 2.9L twin-turbocharged V6 engine with an advanced electric motor to produce a total output of 544 PS (400 kW / 537 hp) and 750 Nm of torque. Its 0-100 km/h sprint time was clocked at 4.3 seconds, matching traditional W12 and V8 powertrains. Storing electricity for the motor is an 18 kWh lithium-ion battery. In terms of range, the hybrid powertrain can travel over 800 km.

Additionally, the automatic Start-Stop switch has been replaced with a control for the three E Modes i.e. EV Drive, Hybrid Mode, and Hold Mode, enabling the driver to manage battery usage during a journey. EV Drive mode is engaged as soon as the car is switched on and maximises the electric driving experience which is ideal for city driving and short journeys. Electric drive, energy regeneration and flow are displayed on the infotainment screen for the driver’s reference, as well as driving statistics the timers for charging of the vehicle. Additional e-motion information is available to the driver via the instrument panel, head-up display and centre screen, including range, battery level and charging information.

Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid_Wheel_FenderThe Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid gets a ‘Hybrid’ badge on the front fender as a mark, along with quad oval tailpipes, and a covered universal charging point on the left-hand rear fender. There is a choice of optional wheels including the 22” Mulliner Driving Specification wheel in 3 different finishes, a 21” wheel in Polished or Grey Painted and Bright machined or the standard 20” wheel.

The car is delivered with market specific cables to facilitate charging at home or via industrial charge points at work or in public facilities. In addition to the standard equipment supplied, customers can also choose a Bentley charging dock available as a cost option, providing an attractive solution housing the charge unit and storing the charge cables neatly.

As for the interior, it is classic Bentley,  showcasing its expertise in creating a modern cabin with unrivalled luxury and innovation. The interior comes with Bentley’s ‘Wing’ theme across the lower console and fascia, and the seats come in 5 hide colour choices. In addition, there is an option for 10 further hide colours, 8 different veneers and 2 duo-tone interior configurations, to create your own individual specification. Stitching and emblems can also be specified in blind or contrast colours. There is also an option for contrast piping for the seat covers, reminiscent of the original Flying Spur from the 1950s.

Building on the company’s heritage, Bentley’s craftsmanship also continues to evolve, delivering contemporary features such as 3D leather door panels and lofted diamond quilting to the seats (included in the Mulliner Driving Specification).

You can also specify your vehicle from the additional extended paint range of over 60 exterior colours, including Mulliner and personal commission. The blackline specification meanwhile, offers a contemporary alternative to exterior brightware including a dark version of the optional illuminated electric Flying B.

All Bentley Flying Spurs are manufactured at the brand’s home in Crewe, UK – the world’s first carbon neutral factory for luxury car production.
