UMW Toyota Motor Records Uptick In September Sales
UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) revealed that it recorded an uptick in vehicle sales in the month of September 2022. Last month, the company sold 9,098 Toyota vehicles and 135 Lexus vehicles. This combined total (9,233 vehicles) is an increase of that of August (9,091). This brings its year-to-date sales to 70,872 vehicles as of September.
In comparison, the company sold 8,033 vehicles in September 2021, and its year-to-date figure for the same 9-month period last year stood at 46,118 vehicles. The lower numbers last year is mainly due to the sales and production disruptions caused by the lockdowns.

First introduced in February 2021, the Toyota Harrier 2.0L Luxury has been updated with improved look and feel. The key improvements include a Panoramic View Monitor, as well as updated Toyota Safety Sense features including Pre-Crash System, Lane Departure Alert, and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. The improvements have been added to meet the needs of evolving market requirements and continue to offer Malaysian buyers an exceptional driving experience, according to UMWT.
The Harrier is built on the TNGA platform with a double wishbone rear suspension set-up. Its wheelbase is 2,690 mm in length and the vehicle itself has dimensions of 4,740 mm (length); 1,855 mm (width); 1,660 mm (height). It is powered by a 2.0L Dynamic Force engine with VVT-iE (Intake) & VVT-i (Exhaust) which provides 173 PS (171 hp) @ 6,600 rpm and 203 Nm of torque @ 4,400 – 4,900 rpm. The engine is paired to a Direct Shift Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).
Notable features include automatic Bi-LED Projector with LED turn signals, panoramic moon roof, powered liftgate with kick sensor, infotainment system with 6 speakers and 8″ touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto, and dual zone climate control with rear vents.
Further, a new variant has been added to the Harrier’s line up i.e. Harrier 2.0L Special Edition which comes in a special Red Metallic color to complement the new luxurious Brown interior.
The Toyota Harrier IMP 2022 is available in 5 body colours i.e. Slate Grey Metallic, Precious Black, Steel Blonde Metallic, Dark Blue Metallic and Platinum White Pearl.
