Shell Malaysia’s Limited Edition Shell Motorsports Collection Available Until December
The exclusive, and limited edition Shell Motorsports Collection will be made available from 8 October to 8 December 2022. The latest Shell Motorsports Collection features a collection of Bluetooth-controlled car from some of Shell’s most prestigious partnerships in motorsports.
The collection is made up of 7 high-performance cars from some of the world’s top motorsport teams partnered with Shell i.e.
- Ferrari SF90
- BMW M4 Motorsport
- Nissan Formula E Gen 2 Car
- Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC
- Shell V-Power Racing Team Ford Mustang GT
- Team Penske Indycar
- Team Penske Ford Mustang GT.
This set of cars tell the story of Shell’s differentiated fuel, Shell V-Power’s, performance. Partnerships in motorsports enables Shell to test the performance of its fuels in extreme conditions and then apply it to the fuels it makes available to road users.
“Shell was there alongside the earliest motorsport pioneers and had an embedded history within motorsport. The latest collection celebrates some of the best race cars that redefined the racing world such as the Hyundai i20 hybrid rally car and Team Penske’s Indycar,” explained Seow Lee Ming, General Manager, Mobility, Shell Malaysia, about what each model in the collection represents in Shell’s long-standing motorsport history.
The Hyundai i20 hybrid rally car won the latest WRC championship in Greece and has secured victories on all terrains i.e. gravel, snow, mixed, and tarmac. Likewise, Team Penske’s Indycar is a trailblazer in the Indycar industry and boasts a 100% renewable race fuel with a 60% greenhouse gas emissions reduction.
“Our customers have always been at the heart of our business. Every time they stop at Shell, we want them to have an opportunity to create unforgettable memories with their family and friends. With our latest collection, we are happy to offer our customers a quick escape from reality, while enjoying an adrenaline-thrilled RC race with their loved ones, anywhere,” she added.
The limited edition Shell Motorsport Collection cars have a special feature i.e. a proprietary rechargeable lithium Smart Battery with integrated Bluetooth chip. The battery is developed in partnership with BrandBase and 12 right holders such as Ferrari, BMW, Hyundai, Ford, and Nissan.
Each car comes with an electric engine and can be controlled by smartphone via the Shell Racing app. The app is free for download from Apple App Store and Google Play, and combines both remote and digital play.
From 8 October until 8 December, the limited-edition Bluetooth remote-control cars will take turns to be released on a weekly basis. They will be available exclusively at Shell Stations nationwide. Further, you can purchase the Motorsport Collectors box at RM80 when you pump RM80 of Shell V-Power Racing fuel in a single transaction.
The separate car models, or Bluetooth smart battery, are available at RM30 each with a minimum fuel purchase of RM50. Alternatively, you can get the exclusive Ferrari SF90 race car and one SMART battery for free when you buy selected a Shell Helix Lubricant 4L pack at Shell stations. The cars are available while stocks last.
Shell will hold an event at KL Sentral from 17 to 23 October, and at Mid Valley Megamall from 26 to 30 October to give the public an exclusive experience to try all 7 racing car models on racetracks designed specifically to present each car in their winning atmosphere. A replica of the Hyundai i20 WRC that clinched the latest WRC Championship title in Greece will also be on display.
