Shell Malaysia Celebrates Rimula Customer Trust & Support

Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd recently held its first post-pandemic gathering in Sibu, Sarawak to celebrate the trust and support given by its customers to its Shell Rimula product range. According to a report by the Kline consulting group, Shell Rimula is the number 1 heavy duty diesel engine oil (HDDEO) in Malaysia¹.

Shell Lubricants General Manager – Malaysia & Singapore, Nyon Kam Yew expressed confidence that Shell Rimula would emerge stronger than ever despite the tough business environment. “We’ve had to implement various proactive measures to mitigate the impacts of the pandemic, foreign exchange fluctuations amongst other challenges and we will continue to collaborate with our partners to overcome this challenging time together. We are thankful that our loyal customers continue to show their preference for Shell Rimula, especially here in Sarawak and Sabah. As a result, the brand was able to strengthen its overall market leadership position and achieve a higher sales growth compared to 2021!” he said to the over 370 distributors and customers who attended the 2022 Shell Rimula gala dinner.

“The current Shell Rimula portfolio of HDDEOs in Malaysia such as the fully synthetic R6 LM and synthetic technology R5 LE are designed to offer longer oil drain intervals³ and better fuel economy⁴. The launch of the new Shell Rimula R4 Plus synthetic technology engine oil in August 2021 was well received by the market and helped double sales of Shell’s premium lubricants⁵,” commented Nyon.

Customers at the dinner also paid tribute to the brand for offering a wide range of quality lubricants with strong aftersales and technical support. Dato’ Sri Toh Keng Tiong, JP, Executive Director of Swee Quarry Sdn Bhd said that the brand’s products have fulfilled the needs of his business. Swee Quarry has been a Shell Rimula customer for over 20 years. “By using Shell Rimula, our fleet of heavy equipment and vehicles enjoy better engine performance and longer oil drain intervals and that has helped us lower our operating costs significantly,” he said.

Meanwhile, Landasan Kembar Sdn Bhd Operations Manager Chew Yee Chu said that Shell’s track record as one of the largest lubricant producers in the world and its 131-year history in Malaysia meant that consumers could use products such as Shell Rimula with total confidence. “We know for sure as we have not received any complaints from our mechanics or drivers since we started using Shell Rimula”.
