Konsortium E-Mutiara Signs Repair & Maintenance Contract For New Hino City Bus Fleet

In order to optimise usage, Konsortium E-Mutiara Berhad has signed a Repair & Maintenance Contract for its fleet of new Hino city buses. These new mini buses will be operated by Mutiara Rentas Desa, a recent set-up, around Kelantan.

Hino Malaysia Managing Director, Atsushi Uchiyama made the official delivery of the first batch of 27 new mini buses to E-Mutiara Group Executive Chairman, Kolonel (PA) Tuan Haji Che Ibrahim. These buses are currently scheduled to run on 13 routes in Kelantan. Busing services is an important form of transportation that helps the mobility of large groups of people and serve as a connection of the population to various areas.

With that consideration, E-Mutiara has taken steps to provide stage bus services for convenient accessibility of the people in Kelantan to commute from one place to another in the state. The upkeep of public transport facilities is also crucial for the community thus at the same time, E-Mutiara also signed the Repair & Maintenance Contract for the fleet, as part of the company’s effort to provide passengers with a safer ride.

Hino is the sole Japanese minibus manufacturer in Malaysia. This minibus model purchased by E-Mutiara is fitted with a 156 PS engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission that allows for better performance and improved fuel economy. The bus is also equipped with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and a Speed Limiter setting of 100 km/h, in compliance with JPJ UNECE regulations.

In line with its customer-centric philosophy of providing the best-fit product to its customers, Hino had determined that a 8 – 10 meter minibus is the most appropriate for this type of operation. Its relative compact size and small turning radius make it easier to navigate as a hop-on-hop-off transport service particularly in narrow or congested areas.

With a priority on safety, E-Mutiara had also registered all its bus drivers to undergo professional driver training offered by Hino. The Hino Total Support Customer Center in Sendayan is a training centre set up by Hino as an initiative to improve driving skills among commercial vehicle drivers. Drivers go through comprehensive courses that focus on driving safety, fuel efficient driving technique, and product familiarisation to reduce accident risk and improve fuel efficiency. According to Hino, driver training is able to provide savings of up to 10% in fuel consumption.
