JMC Vigus Pro 4×4 Pick-up Truck To Launch In Malaysia Next Week
There will be a new brand of pick-up truck in the market next week when official distributor, Angka-Tan Motor Sdn Bhd (ATM) launches the JMC Vigus Pro 4×4. Angka-Tan is a subsidiary of Warisan Tan Chong Holdings Bhd, and a member of the Tan Chong Group. Meanwhile, JMC (or Jiangling Motors Corp., Ltd) is listed in the Shenzhen Stock Exchange and names Ford as a controlling shareholder.
The Vigus Pro 4×4 is a collaboration between ATM and JMC subsequent to the signing of the Vehicle Technology Licensing agreement on 1 July 2020 where JMC granted ATM the sole right to manufacture, assemble and sell the JMC Vigus Pro 4×4 pick-up truck and related parts and components in Malaysia.

The JMC Vigus Pro 4×4 is based on the JMC Yuhu 9 for the China market. According to ATM, the Vigus Pro will be equipped with:
- 2.0L Puma TDI 4-cylinder diesel engine with VGT (variable geometry turbo)
- 141 PS (@3,600 rpm) and 340 Nm (1,500 rpm – 2,600 rpm)
- 8-speed ZF automatic transmission with manual shift mode
- BorgWarner 4WD System with 2H, 4H and 4L modes
- Rear Differential Lock by Eaton
- Class-leading fuel economy @ 7.8L/100km
- Rear-view camera
