myTukar, MyGroser, The Food Purveyor And NGOs Provide Help To Communities In Need
myTukar has partnered with MyGroser, The Food Purveyor and some NGOs to raise funds to support communities in need. The #myTukarCares fundraising campaign targets to raise over RM1 million to provide support and assistance to over 10,000 families who face economic hardships in this period. This campaign will run until the end of August 2021.
The non-governmental organisations (NGOs) involved in #myTukarCares are Free Makan, Making Orang Asli Mothers Independent (MOAMI), Seri Jayanti Welfare Organisation, Pejabat Adun Kampung Tunku, The Hope Branch, Care & Share Circle (volunteer group), and the Dignity for Children Foundation.
myTukar will raise the funds via three different channels i.e. donations from myTukar and its employees, transactions made via the myTukar platform, and through contributions from existing business partners and customers.
“We started this campaign to support Malaysians that are in dire need of food and essentials. In support of this cause, almost all the revenue generated via myTukar transactions will be donated to the NGOs that we are working with. We also pledge RM50 for every car sold and RM100 for every car bought through our bidding platform. Internally, we have already managed to raise over RM100,000,” said Jeffrey Ong, CEO of myTukar.
In this partnership, MyGroser will be providing top-up support, contributing proceeds from the sale of their “Malaysia, Together” voucher. For every RM1 spent, myTukar will add on an additional 20%. Once the funds have been raised, myTukar will work with NGOs like Free Makan to identify families in need.
“MyGroser has always focused on convenience, flexibility and value. Our purpose has always been to serve the needs of our communities and customers. Today , more so than ever we need to come together as a nation. With myTukar and like minded partners, we will be able to provide and help as many communities as we can. Our own Malaysia Together campaign offers our customers a chance to contribute in whatever way they can with the purchase of vouchers. Every little bit helps” said Stephen Francis, CEO of MyGroser.
Additionally, The Food Purveyor (TFP) will be acting as a food supplier to this campaign, ensuring that essentials are delivered to the families. “During these trying times, when many Malaysians are calling out for help, we are proud to join hands with myTukar, bringing everyday essentials to those in need of assistance. With COVID-19 upending numerous lives globally, and with the government and frontliners fighting to combat the spread of the virus, it is up to businesses to step up to the plate, to lend a helping hand to the community and people at large,” said Geoff King, the CEO of The Food Purveyor.
Established in 2017, TFP is a full-fledged chain of premium grocers in the Klang Valley. It currently operates three supermarket brands i.e. Village Grocer, Ben’s Independent Grocer (B.I.G.) and Pasaraya OTK.
myTukar is an online marketplace that offers a comprehensive range of services for all aspects of car ownership. It is able to connect buyers and sellers nationwide, through a digital bidding platform, enabling vehicle transactions online.
