BMW 840i Gran Coupé M Sport Launched In Malaysia

The BMW 840i Gran Coupé M Sport features a dynamic silhouette with four doors, a long wheelbase and a coupé-style roofline that flows effortlessly into a sloping rear. This coupé is the most luxurious BMW has ever built. It retails at RM968,800 on the road, without insurance, and includes BMW Group Malaysia’s latest 5 Years Unlimited Mileage Warranty, Free Scheduled Service Programme and BMW Tyre Warranty Programme.
As the most luxurious sports coupé BMW has ever built, the BMW 840i Gran Coupé M Sport sports the iconic kidney grille that is complemented by a widened frame that emphasises the vehicle’s low centre of gravity. The large M Sport air intakes and BMW laser headlights with high-beam assistant (incidentally the most slender headlight of all BMW models) provide clear definition to the face of the vehicle. The Gran Coupé also comes with the BMW M Aerodynamic kit, in addition to the standard BMW M Sport package.
Powering the coupé is a 3.0L six-cylinder in-line TwinPower Turbo engine that is new to the BMW 8 Series. The engine is paired to an eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission with shift paddles and combined with the BMW sDrive rear wheel drive system. It is capable of generating 340 hp @ 5,000 – 6,500 rpm and peak torque of 500 Nm @ 1,600 – 4,500 rpm. The century sprint is achieved in 5.2 seconds, fastest in its segment while top speed is capped at 250 km/h. Average combined fuel consumption is recorded at 7.9 l/100km and it has a combined carbon output of 180 g/km.
The BMW 840i Gran Coupé M Sport owes its extraordinary driving characteristics to a low centre of gravity, an extremely stiff body and chassis as well as high-tech suspension components largely taken off the M shelves, such as the M Sport differential on the rear axle for maximum traction, the Integral Active Steering for more directional stability and Adaptive Suspension with electronically-controlled dampers.
